 Margao Municipal garden is a green heaven which lies in the heart of the busiest City, Margao. The Margao Municipal Garden was developed by the Mavany family and is named after H. H. Aga Khan, during his visit just before Goa's liberation. The garden is maintained by the Margao Municipal Council and its now their property. It is one of the most visited central landmarks of the Margao city. The garden is separated by a narrow walkway where you may find street sellers sitting side by mostly selling vegetables, fruits and other small items. One side there is the Municipal Garden and the other side there is the Aga Khan Children's Park making it a big garden in the heart of the city.


 It was a sunny day when I reached the garden. The municipal garden is open from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM, while the Children's Park is open between 5 PM to 9 PM. It was a good atmosphere when I walked through the entrance and was greeted by a wonderful array of flowers and colours and it was very beautiful. The garden looked mostly green in colour, as it had lot of colourful flowers. A very nice place to site and rest and you really feel good, sitting on the bench, especially during summer season, inhaling the fresh air. The Margao Municipal garden also has a statue of Luis de Menezes Braganza, a prominent Indian journalist, writer and anti-colonial activist from Goa and its look good, decorated with some flowers pots all around.

Different species of green trees and flowering plants are seen in the Margao Municipal garden and they are watered daily by the gardeners, so that the garden looks colourful every day. It is also a center of attraction to people of Goa and also the outsiders. Lot of people come here every day to see the scenario and to relax in the fresh air, to reduce their stress and to have a cool mind.


Talking about transportation to reach the garden, there are bus stops right outside the garden and you can easily get bus from Margao ktc. The approximate distance driving distance from Margao ktc to Margao Municipal garden is 1 km and you can get down near the Margao market which is just opposite the garden.  Taking a bus will be the cheapest to reach the garden compared to other transportation facilities. The buses are available throughout the day so you can easily reach here.

Money and shopping facilities is also available outside the garden. Lot of tourist also visit this destination, mainly to click photos with variety of flowers and to spend times with their loved ones especially with their children’s, there are variety of slides in the between the different colours of flowers, where there are large and minor ones and they may like this place very much as they can play and roam around with their friends. There are cafe's around outside the garden, so to get a drink and something to eat, if you are hungry then you can visit one of the shops and fill your stomach and come back again relax. I had my eatables for the day, in by bag so I ate it and threw my waste remains in the dustbin and now it was the time for me to relax. There is also a security guard who takes care of the Garden throughout the day. This garden is also one of the most sightseeing in Margao. Well it was a great experience visiting this place and it was time for me to go back home now. To go back to ktc bus stand there is a bus stop (near petrol pump) which is opposite of Margao Municipal garden that is on the right side or there is taxi service also available nearby.  

Well it's a good place to find some shade. A very good place to spend some time with your friends. There are places to sit in sun or shade.  The gardeners are doing their job very well to keep it clean. It’s good to come here during summer or winter season.The place where the climate good enough.
Its shady tress that invites me during summer season and its green sunny lawns catch my eyes in the  winter season. The singing of birds on the tress,which attract the people sitting nearby and which gives the visitors a good feeling. There is a fountain which looks nice and a long pool which is connected by a bridge with water flowing both the sides and fishes in it that attracts the little ones.This park is also suitable for early morning exercise and if you get tired that you can find your shade under the tress to relax. The main attraction of this place is its variety of flowers which makes the garden more beautiful.
